wolf and shepherd

wolf and shepherd

Once a wolf went out in search of food, he went out for a whole day, but nothing came in his hands. Finally, after a long wait, he saw a herd of goats coming from a distance. The goat separated from the herd and he attacked it and grabbed it. He showed him a goat grazing away from the herd. Knowing the opportunity, he attacked it and grabbed it in his sharp teeth. The shepherd saw him and ran after him until he caught him and managed to free the goat from his mouth.

When the wolf saw the prey leaving his mouth, he raised his legs in front of the shepherd and sat on his hind legs and suddenly he started talking.

"O ignorant shepherd

Do you take away from me the sustenance that Allah has given me? When he suddenly heard the wolf talking like humans, he wondered what it was. That a wolf was talking to me like humans. Then the wolves. replied, Shall I not tell you something even more strange than that? The shepherd was even more surprised and said, "Tell me." Before entering Madinah, he left his flock in one place and then went in search of the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, to tell him the strange story.

Finally, the shepherd met the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and told him the strange story of the wolf speaking, and even more strange than that, he told about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). After hearing the incident, he ordered a preacher to announce to the people that the prayer was going to be held. When the people gathered, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and asked the shepherd to mention the incident in front of them all. He explained all the details of the incident. The people's faces showed signs of surprise and they all asked with one voice, "Is that wolf talking By the One in Whose possession is the soul of Muhammad, the Hour will not be established until the beasts speak to men, and to man the edge of his whip and the strap of his shoe. This incident of his became famous in Madinah and people used to call his sons as Banu Muklam al-Dha'ib i.e. sons of the one who talks to wolves and they had a lot of wealth and cattle. They belonged to the Khuza'a tribe.
